First draft of beginning of our music video

We filmed the opening sequence before the music video on Thursday, we filmed at Abi's house as me and Beccy thought her bedroom best suited Tiffany's personality and style.

We found the first shoot slightly difficult as we changed Abi's costume until we were satisfied with her appearance because previously we believed she did not reflect Tiffany.

Location

I have spoke to photographer at my work place about me and Beccy using his photography studio to film for our music video. He is allowing us to use it whenever it is free; this means we can organise times and dates when we can start filming.

Issues are arising at the moment such as when we can film parts of our music video due to either me or Beccy working and when the cast are available. To sort this out we are going to contact the cast over Facebook on the event page which we set up a few weeks ago to sort out: times and date.

This studio is perfect for our music video as it has a large backdrop with a choice of white and black colours. There is plenty of lighting: a large window allows in natural light into the studio but also he had six powerful lights available for us to use, this will give us a more professional look to the video if we get perfect lighting, to to this we will simply experiment until we are happy with the outcome. As it is a large studio it allows plenty of movement so we can have dance sequences and experiment with camera angles. There is also plenty of room for more than one person in the frames and props can be present.

Originally we were going to use green screen for our music video but me and Beccy think this will be difficult and time consuming to use for our music video so we thought we would simply using a plain backdrop so that focus is on the girls in the video and no distractions are present. To make the video more entropic we we add text over the clips which is possible to do in Adobe Premiere Pro which will just as effective.

Shelley Eva Haden love the outbreaks of colour, the picture bottum right is gorgeous. I think the image bottum left, there is tooo much going on, looks to posed but thats the only bit of critisism i would give.. Love the added sparkles and wrighting, it gives it an edge. The old vintage effect surrounding the frame of each image is the 'cherry on top of the cake'.. weldone! ♥

James White Love it stace :) I like the black and White with the bursts of pink and the effects you've put on the images. I think maybe it would look better if the lips were a bit bigger on the cd, and I'm not a mahoosive fan of the font, but that's just me. Everyone else seems to like it :)

Beccy Bonfield omg stace, that is so good!!! I love the colours and how you've made the pink jump out and stand out. It looks old, and yet modern. The back cover is good, but I think the pink writing needs to be a bit bolder, as I think its a bit hard to see. Other than that it is amazing, well done matey :)

Final advert

This is my advert to promote Tifffany Queens digipak titled Royalty. I continued to use the same editing style so that the both the digipak and advert link well with one another as this allows the audience to recognise what the digipak looks like so that they can go and purchase it.

I used a similar photograph of Abi who is portraying Tiffany Queen in the digipak as well as in the music video. She has a great pop look about her and is believable to be a: strong individual new pop/ dance artist. I chose to use this particular photograph out of many as I love her attitude in her strong and power stance yet she connects with the audience as her eyes appear to be staring into yours. Connecting with the audience is important as many who haven't heard a song from this artist will either like or dismiss her if she comes across negatively.

Our demographic audience is 14-17 year old girls, I believe this is reflected in this advert as the colour scheme would appeal to the young girls and the whole feminine appearance of Tiffany as well. I believe this post appears to target the mainstream audience as it looks: professional, creative and clearly presents the artist. By adding details such as a quote from the main stream magazine Heat also will influence young girls to purchase this digipak as they want the new and latest things. As it is a main stream digipak where you could purchase it from was also important, I decided that HMV would sell Tiffany's digipak as they are a world wide company who sell the latest music at a reasonable price.

Overall I am extremely happy with both my digipak and advert, they both link well with one another. It is different from many albums and digipaks available in stores today which is good as they are thought provoking and artistic and would capture many peoples attention. I believe I created a persona for Tiffany Queen who is relevant to the modern music industry as today the charts are ruled by amazing and individual female artists such as: Cheryl Cole, Katy Perry, Lady Ga Ga, Pink, Rhianna and Ellie Golding etc... and Tiffany Queen would fit alongside them for her pop/ dance music perfectly.

Final digipak for Tiffany Queen

These photographs are the covers and panels for Tiffany Queen's Royalty digipak I have created. I believe I have produced a thought provoking and creative digipak which is also entropic for the pop/ dance genre.

To create my final digipak I did a lot of experimenting and development which I have presented previously on my blog. I had clear vision how I wanted my digipak to look like after discussing the concept of creating a digipak which reflected the 1940's photographs yet also have a modern twist. The old edited look reflects our music video as we are going to produce an 1940 entropic and disjunctive music for our pop/ dance genre. The appearance I created for our lead singer on the other had reflects a modern and individual female artist relevant to the music charts today.

The fonts I have used throughout this digipak are from Picnik, I only used two as I did not want to over complicate the digipak as the focus are the photographs. After researching other digipaks I noticed that the majority of front covers included a photograph of the artist/artists which I decided was suitable for my digipak. I dressed my model in a Jewel bra and cropped hoody as I wanted to create a individual look for Tiffany Queen which is: glam, girly with a feisty attitude. The look of Tiffany Queen would appeal to our demographic audience of girls aged 14-17 and also our secondary audience of males because the digipak looks: main stream, pop and new. I do think the audience well be intrigued why the digipak is edited old but you can clearly still see that the music is pop by the: layout, photographs, colour scheme and artist.

I wanted the digipak to represent our artist so I include photographs of her in different outfits which shows the diversity of her and this represents her music as well. I included a glam photograph of Tiffany getting her make up done which reflects her name 'Queen' which is glamours and shows that maybe she is: spoilt, girly and loves to gossip, as she is on her phone. The second panel includes props which will be used in the music video me and Beccy are going to produce, this gives the audience an insight into Tiffany's creative vision for her music video and also gives her fans an connection as they know what this panel means where as others may not. The third panel which is a thank you panel to her: friends, family and fan was the most different and hardest to create, it took several attempts until I was satisfied with the final layout. To create it I took separate photographs of Abi portraying two sides of Tiffany; the first is: modern, girly and flirtatious whereas the second is: vintage, hardcore, with a glazed look which creates depth to the character. This panel would intrigue the audience to see if these are looks she styles herself or meant to representations of the artist. For the actual CD I kept with the vintage theme and thought about the concept of having a CD which is decorated to look like a vinyl, I photoshoped the Tiffany Queen onto the vinyl which I bought from a charity shop. I think the CD ties the whole concept well together and adds another entropic element to the digipak. The spine of the digipak was simple to produce; I used the same fonts from the front panel and for extra detail I added the main stream music record label Sony. Finally the back cover proved to be difficult and took several attempts to perfect but I think it is effective. I added humour to this by mocking Tiffany Queens name by giving Abi a Tiara; this reflects her girly and Innocent side. The back cover contrasts with the front cover as the focus is the eyes where as the the front seems to focus mostly on her boobs. I placed the song titles individual myself into the curve as I thought it looked: good interesting and reflected the girly side of Tiffany Queen.

Overall I am extremely happy with the outcome of my digipak, I believe I have produced a: high standard, creative and entropic digipak. I have thought about little details such as: parental advisory sticker, record label, bar code, thank you message, and layout. I have and will continue with the 1940's vintage theme with a modern twist throughout my coursework as I think it is thought provoking and entropic. After posting this on Facebook the only negative feedback I have gained is my choice of font for the thank you panel which I agree with slightly but I know if I was to print this out in the size of a digipak it would be readable.

Me and Bec had use of the photography studio which I took my second lot of photographs and Bec took her first. Here Abi who is the model took a photograph of us, me sporting a moustache and Bec the Tiara I used in my photo shoot. (Good times)
